Picnik.com, recently purchased by Google, is a free online photo editing website that offers advanced editing features at economical pricing. Yet many people will do fine with their basic editing controls. The photo shown here was modified from the original (below) using the pencil sketch feature of Picnik.
Picnik is a nice resource for artists to have in their virtual toolkit.

Google is one of the most prominent companies offering cloud-based computing — computer programs that run on the web within your browser. The advantage to cloud-based computing is that you don’t need to constantly upgrade your programs to the latest version. That’s done automatically for you.
